During the period of greatest prominence, The Lake House had a roller-skating rink and open pavilion on her shores. The steamboat, T.R. Proctor took visitors on excursions around the lake.  We are currently restoring a paddle-wheeler to use on Canadarago Lake.  It will be christened the T.R. Proctor, II.

Gene Chris have four wonderful children. Patrick, Hilary, Elizabeth, and Ryan. Christine was a Spanish teacher at Mohawk Central School for many years, while  Gene taught science and then ran a lumber store they  became the owners of the Lake House in 1997.  They love living on the lake and meeting people from all over the world as they discover new York's Leatherstocking Region, Cooperstown, upstate New York  and the many surrounding areas of beauty, historical significance and local interest.
Gene and Chris have a few  hobbies. their favorite is running with the dog sleds on the frozen lake. During the warm months, we enjoy canoeing on the lake.  We also really enjoy listening to DooWop music and going to as many concerts as we can.  Among our favorite groups is Kenny Vance and the Planotones.  We often times have diner and dancing in the evenings
we anxiously wait for the snow to be able to take the sleds out in the winter.   In 2002 we adopted a retiring team that had given tours in Yellowstone National Park. My husband drove to Montana to bring back the team.  Since then we have enjoyed many wintry rides with our dogs.  You can meet our team while you are here. They love the company.
